Hear from some of our residents, guests, and families about their experience with Generations at Elmwood Park.
Before relocating my dad from Florida to Chicago, I researched many homes to ensure he would get the best care possible. Since he had his leg cut off below the knee, he would require 24/7 attention. In addition, Dad needed therapy; both physical and psychological. After my search, I found that Generations at Elmwood Park was best equipped to care for my dad. The selection was important to me. I needed to be sure my dad would be in the best place so I would not be worried about my dad’s welfare. I am extremely pleased with the care and services they provide. I can sleep at night knowing he is in good hands. I would recommend Generations at Elmwood Park to anyone in need of assistance. My thanks to all that take care of my dad. He is the world to me.

I came to Generations at Elmwood Park to get help. I used to be on the 2nd floor because I had a stroke. But the people there have helped me so much, I am on the fourth floor now – which is the independent floor. The people here are so caring and compassionate. I love it here! I am doing beautifully.

I am writing this letter in regards to the care my mother, Geraldine, receives at Generations at Elmwood Park. In August of 2014 I was looking for a permanent nursing home residence for her after living with and taking care of her for almost six years. I was and still am very protective of my mom. From the moment I met you and other staff members when I came to tour your facility, I knew it was the right place for her.
Everyone is so friendly and caring towards the residents and family members. The entire staff, including the nurses, CNAs, and social services are very compassionate people. I am there five or six days a week and I’m always impressed by the level of care and patience I witness not only for my mom but other residents as well. Even the maintenance and housekeeping staff will gladly help if I stop them.
The facility is very clean and has a nice, home like feeling to it. Debbie and everyone else at the reception desk are always very welcoming and friendly as soon as I walk in the door. I know my family members that visit my mom always leave with a good impression, which they convey to me.
When my visit with my mom is over, I leave knowing she is in good hands and will be well taken care of. If for any reason I need to check back, I know I’ll get through and the nursing staff will take the time to talk to me. Also, I know they will call to keep me informed of any changes with my mom.
All in all, I am very happy with Generations at Elmwood Park and recommend them to anyone having to make the difficult decision of placing a loved one in a nursing home. I am confident my mom is in the best place possible and I am comfortable knowing she is getting such a high level of care and attention.
It is with sincere gratitude that I write this letter. I hope everyone on the staff knows how much I, and other families appreciate all they do for our loved ones.
